Thrive Family Practice runs a monthly face-to-face group medical appointment, led by a GP and Exercise Physiologist.
The group covers:
- physiology of what happens in a ''cranky pelvis"
- what actually happens in and the drivers of Persistent Pelvic Pain
- the concept of the Neuro-Endocrine-Immune ensemble, and how it contributes to the pain experience
- a look at how we can use food, movement, sleep, stress management and social connection techniques to feel better
- a detailed discussion with our doctor about medications and medical options in the management of Persistent Pelvic Pain
- movement and breathwork practice with our exercise physiologist
- how to tackle flare ups
The Endo First Aid program is held on a Saturday from 9.30am to 2.30pm and includes a delicious organic low fodmap lunch. The groups are informal and provide space for discussion, questions, cross-pollination of ideas, and connection with others. No PowerPoint presentations, we promise!

Thrive Family Practice will be presenting to the SA Parliament Select Committee on Endometriosis in August 2024.
We will be developing a new pain tangle to present to the Committee, with an aim to demonstrate the complexities and interconnections between symptoms and impacts of pelvic pain and endometriosis. We'd love you to come along to contribute your story to the tangle. All contributions can be de-identified prior to the presentation.
What is a pain tangle?
In many of our workshops we explore a "Pain Tangle" model, which is a visual representation which highlights the various factors and systems that interact and contribute to the experience of chronic pelvic pain. It vividly illustrates how intertwined the physical, emotional, and social aspects of pain are, emphasizing that addressing these comprehensively can lead to better outcomes.
